How it works

FL Studio has always been able to do this. It reads a plain-text file next to each folder that sets its colour, icon, order and artwork. Almost nobody uses it, because writing those by hand for forty folders is miserable.

Strip the last pack's name off every file, set a case, add your tag, number them per folder. You see the whole before and after list before anything is written.

Peak normalise

Bring the kit to one level so nobody loads a sample and dives for the gain. Per file, or per folder to keep a soft and a hard hit in proportion. Sample rate and bit depth are left exactly as they are.

Questions

Straight answers

Does this change my samples?

Only if you ask it to. Styling writes small text files beside your folders and never touches audio. WAV tagging is the one exception, and it only adds a metadata block to the end of the file. The audio itself is byte for byte identical.

Do my files get uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser. There is no server to send them to, which is also why it works on a 4GB kit without waiting on an upload bar.

Can I sell kits made with the icons?

Yes. Every icon in the library is original work drawn for Kit Suite, not licensed from an icon set. Pro includes commercial use in kits you sell, with no attribution required.

Will the styling survive if someone moves my kit?

The colours and icons live in files beside the folders, so they travel with it as long as the folder is copied whole. WAV tags are inside the audio files, so those survive anything short of a re-export.

Does it work on Mac?

Yes, in any current Chrome or Edge. The exported kit works in FL on both Windows and macOS, and the read-me includes the install path for each.
